Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology (JMST) is an official monthly International transaction of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers (KSME). The current journal name was adopted in 2005. The first issue of the journal appeared in 1987, two times a year until 1992 under the name of KSME Journal. Then, it was published quarterly from 1993 to 1996, and bimonthly from 1997 to 1998, and monthly since 1999. From 1997 to 2004, the journal name was KSME International Journal (ISSN 1226-4865). In 1994, the journal was indexed as Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and also in SCOPUS, INSPEC, Google Scholar, CNKI, Current Contents/Engineering, EBSCO Academic Search, EI Compendex, Expanded Academic, Gale, etc. The aim of the Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology is to provide an international forum for the publication and dissemination of original work that contributes to the understanding of the main and related disciplines of mechanical engineering, either empirical or theoretical. The Journal covers the whole spectrum of mechanical engineering, which includes, but is not limited to, Dynamics, Vibration and Sound Engineering, Materials and Technology, Fluids Engineering, Solid Mechanics and Design, Micro/Nano Engineering and Technology, Production Engineering, Robotics and Control, Thermal and Power Engineering and Bio Engineering.Manuscripts may fall into several categories including full articles, solicited reviews or commentary, and unsolicited reviews or commentary related to the core of mechanical engineering. It is also proposed to maintain an international diary of forthcoming events. Prospective guest editors for publishing the special issue should contact the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal.
《机械科学与技术杂志》（JMST）是韩国机械工程师协会（KSME）的官方国际月刊。2005年采用了当前的期刊名称。这本杂志的第一期发表于1987年，直到1992年，每年两次以KSME期刊的名义出版。1993年至1996年为季刊，1997年至1998年为双月刊，1999年为月刊。1997年至2004年，期刊名称为《KSME国际期刊》（ISSN1226-4865）。1994年，《科学引文索引扩展》（简称SCIE），并在SCOPUS、检查、谷歌学者、知网、当前内容╱工程、EBSCO学术搜索、EI核心期刊、扩大学术范围、Gale等网站进行了索引。《机械科学与技术》杂志的宗旨是为出版和传播有助于理解机械工程的主要和相关学科(无论是经验的还是理论的)的原创作品提供一个国际论坛。该杂志涵盖了机械工程的所有领域，包括但不限于动力学、振动与声音工程、材料与技术、流体工程、固体力学与设计、微/纳米工程与技术、生产工程、机器人与控制、热力与动力工程和生物工程。手稿可以分为几类，包括完整的文章、征求意见的评论或评注，以及与机械工程核心相关的未经请求的评论或评注。还建议保存即将发生事件的国际日记。出版特刊的潜在客座编辑应联系该期刊的主编。
